MS Seminars and Journal Club
All are welcome to this journal club to hear about the latest research and developments in MS. The sessions are held in the Brain Research Centre Conference Room. Check out the events calendar for a schedule of meetings.

Neurobiology of Psychosis Journal Club
This journal club provides an opportunity for students, postdocs, and faculty to discuss recent research and issues pertinent to severe mental illness. Graduate students and postdocs are encouraged to present topics relevant to their own studies, and everyone is welcome to attend. A multidisciplinary perspective on psychosis is promoted, with discussions related to genetics, imaging, animal models, biochemistry/molecular biology, as well as clinical research.
The meetings are held in the Boardroom of the BC Mental Health and Addictions Research Institute located at 938 W 28th Ave (Women's and Children's Hospital Site). Papers are chosen by one person for each meeting, and are emailed to participants one week prior to the meeting. Check out the events calendar for a schedule of meetings.
For more information or to be notified of the papers discussed, please email psychosisjournalclub@hotmail.com.
Neuroscience Pizza Lab Seminars
These meetings are a series of short talks highlighting unpublished work by UBC neuroscience labs. Following a short introduction by the supervisors, each presenting student and postdoctoral fellow gives a 10 minute talk. After that, there's plenty of time for discussions and pizza!
The sessions are held in the Brain Research Centre Conference Room. Check out the events calendar for a schedule of meetings.
For more information, please email shernaz.bamji@ubc.ca or dwallan@interchange.ubc.ca.
Prefrontal Cortex Journal Club
The prefrontal cortex (PFC) represents the final frontier toward understanding complex human behavior. If you're interested in learning about this fascinating brain region, please join the Prefrontal Cortex Journal Club! The club is primarily geared towards students (undergraduate, graduate, and postdoctoral), but anyone is welcome to attend the meetings. Discussions span all levels of research from molecules to behavior, and from in vitro to in vivo work.
Meetings are held in the Brain Research Centre Library. Food and drink are provided. Check out the events calendar for a schedule of meetings or visit https://sites.google.com/site/pfcjournalclub/.
For more information, please email pfcjournalclub@gmail.com.
Synaptic Journal Club
The discussions at meetings of this seminar series and club focus around the research of Brain Research Centre PIs or recent journal articles. All students, faculty, and staff are encouraged to attend.
The PI Seminar / Synaptic Journal Club meets in the Brain Research Centre Conference Centre. Check out the events calendar for a schedule of meetings.

Neuroscience Summer Seminar Series
UBC's neuroscience trainees have initiated a new seminar series designed to offer graduate students and PDFs the opportunity to present their research in a formal setting.
This series will provide an important venue for trainees to hone their presentations while enhancing understanding of the great research being carried out throughout our neuroscience community.
The NRSC Summer Seminar Series will take place on Thursdays from 4-5PM in the BRC conference Centre during the summer hiatus of the BRC Neuroscience Colloquium. Check out the events calendar for a schedule of meetings.
